Technical Editor Associate

This program provides scientific, logistical, information technology and administrative support in a fast-paced environment in which hundreds of deliverables and thousands of individual documents are delivered annually across various task orders. HOW A TECHNICAL EDITOR ASSOCIATE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Checks basic facts and copyedits documents according to established guidelines.
- Applies accurate and consistent spelling, grammar, format, and overall cohesiveness to document text.
- Employs precise in-house and AMA style guidelines to establish consistency across documents.
- Ensures documents meet editorial and client specifications and adhere to standards for quality, clarity, presentation, and style.
- Communicates and collaborates with a fully remote workforce that is dedicated to supporting our clients in finding and funding innovative medical research programs.
- Utilizes MS Word skills to track changes, verify information, copyedit, and communicate issues downstream.
- Assignments are delegated as needed and based on project demand, workload, and candidate availability; the duration of each assignment varies.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science, preferably in English, Journalism, or a related field; or equivalent education and experience.
- Required Experience: 1-3 years of relevant editing experience or an appropriate combination of applicable education and experience. Experience editing using the AMA Manual of Style is strongly preferred; familiarity with other styles, e.g., APA, is desirable.
- Required Technical Skills: Intermediate level MS 365 skills, particularly MS Word & Outlook.
- Required Skills and Abilities: Strong written communication and copyediting skills.
- Preferred Skills: Experience in scientific/medical editing/writing.
