THE POSITION
The U.S. Faster Payments Council (FPC) is an industry-led membership organization established so Americans can safely and securely pay anyone, anywhere, at any time and with near-immediate funds availability. Its members represent all the major stakeholders in the U.S. payments system, including financial institutions, business end-users, technology providers, network operators, and consumer groups.
The FPC is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to the leadership team and members of the FPC. As an Executive Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the organization operates efficiently while making valuable contributions to our important mission.
The Executive Assistant will report directly to the FPC’s Executive Director with a dotted line reporting relationship to the FPC’s Senior Director of Operations and provide support to the Marketing & Communications Director as well as the Manager of Member Services.

This is a full-time, virtual position; the successful candidate will work from home as part of a remote team. Candidates are required to have experience supporting executives with a proven track record of professionalism and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite. We are seeking a professional with experience working with member-driven industry associations and familiar with balancing competing interests resulting from reporting into multiple decision-makers. The position requires periodic travel to attend in-person member meetings and events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule planning calls related to speaking engagements, events, podcasts, and member meetings, and help collect/organize content for presentations.
- Maintain appointment schedules, calendars, and coordinate travel arrangements.
- Prepare and administer basic to intermediate-level reports and communication materials for the Board of Directors, Board Committees, and Work Groups.
- Assist with maintaining membership database: post, edit, and maintain association management software.
- Prepare and administer surveys, summarize, and communicate results.
- Assist with incoming requests for information from prospective members and general member support.
- Other executive administrative responsibilities as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate to become the FPC’s Executive Assistant has 5-7 years of direct hands-on experience as an executive assistant or senior administrative assistant to one or more executives, ideally in a trade association and/or payments environment. Additionally, this candidate possesses the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field. Or associate degree plus a minimum of 5 years related experience.
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
- Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, members, and external partners.
- Proven ability to handle information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer service and response.
- Ability to effectively communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with diverse groups.
- Calendar management experience including coordinating meetings, appointments, and schedules for executives.
- Experience in executive travel coordination, including flights, lodging, and ground transportation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams), Customer Management Software, and Webinar platforms.
